Char Dham refers to the four sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites located in the majestic Himalayas of Uttarakhand. The four holy shrines — Yamunotri Temple, Gangotri Temple, Kedarnath Temple, and Badrinath Temple — are considered among the most important pilgrimage destinations in Hinduism. Every year, thousands of devotees undertake this spiritual journey to seek blessings, purification, and inner peace.
The yatra usually begins from Yamunotri (source of River Yamuna), followed by Gangotri (source of River Ganga), then Kedarnath (dedicated to Lord Shiva), and finally Badrinath (dedicated to Lord Vishnu). Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, flowing rivers, and breathtaking valleys, the Char Dham Yatra is not only a religious pilgrimage but also a deeply emotional and spiritual experience. It is believed that completing this sacred journey washes away sins and leads a person toward salvation (moksha).
