Do Dham Yatra is a sacred spiritual journey covering two highly revered temples of Uttarakhand — Kedarnath Temple and Badrinath Temple, located in the beautiful Himalayan state of Uttarakhand. This pilgrimage is ideal for devotees who wish to experience deep spiritual blessings within a shorter duration compared to the full Char Dham Yatra. Kedarnath, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas and is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and breathtaking mountain scenery. Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, stands along the banks of the Alaknanda River and is considered one of the most important Vaishnav pilgrimage sites in India.

The journey offers not only religious significance but also stunning natural landscapes, serene rivers, and peaceful Himalayan valleys. The yatra season usually runs from April/May to October, depending on weather conditions. Pilgrims can travel by road and trekking routes, or opt for helicopter services for a more comfortable and time-efficient experience.

Itinerary

Day 1

Ram Jhula

Begin your Do-Dham Tour as you arrive at the Delhi Airport or Railway Station by self. From here, reach the common departure point in Delhi at your own cost. Enjoy coffee or snacks and start a 270 kms journey to Rishikesh at 10:15 AM sharp. After 6-7 hours, arrive in Rishikesh and check-in to your hotel. In the evening, you can choose to explore the city and head out to visit the Ram/Laxman Jhoola, take a holy bath in Ganga, and participate in the vibrant Aarti at Triveni Ghat at your leisure. Feel rejuvenated as you experience the peace and positivity of attending the live aarti. Return to your hotel for dinner and rest for the night. Note: Departure Point will be - Hotel Arch, A-74, Rd No. 4, Mahipalpur, New Delhi Airport, New Delhi 110037.

Day 2

Guptkashi

After a hearty breakfast, check-out from your hotel and head towards Guptkashi. Located 190kms away from Rishikesh, it takes around 5-6 hours to reach Guptkashi. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and relax for some time. Afterwards, enjoy walking around the peaceful village and shop for souvenirs from the local market. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3

Gauri Kund

After an early morning breakfast, check-out from your hotel and head to Sonprayag. From here, you will reach Gaurikund by arranging a local vehicle at your own cost. Gaurikund is the base camp from where the trek to Kedarnath begins. You can also bathe in the Gaurikund hot water springs before commencing the trek. Choose to hire a Doli or a pony ride to reach the Kedarnath Temple at your own cost. As you make your way up, witness the breathtaking views of the Mandakini River which is one of the main tributaries of the Ganges. Revel as you hear 'Jai Bholenath' chants echoing in the mountains. Upon arrival, check-in to your Aashram/lodge and enjoy an overnight stay in Kedarnath. Note: The accommodation will be on a shared basis. It is recommended to carry limited clothes and to keep the remaining luggage in the vehicle or hotel. The distance covered will be 38 kms and the trek distance will be 20 kms. The travel duration will be around 6-7 hour

Day 4

Kedarnath to Guptkashi

Wake up early morning before dawn, have a bath, and reach the temple by 4:45 AM for the ‘Abhishek Pooja’ to Lord Shiva. Experience divinity as the pooja is conducted and seek divine blessings from Kedarnath Shiva. You can also trek to the Bhairavnath Temple or the Rudra Cave nearby. After the darshan and pooja, return to your Lodge/Aashram. Afterwards, begin your 19 km long trek back to Sonprayag. Then, drive for 40 km and return to Guptkashi after 5-6 hours. Check-in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5

Guptkashi to Badrinath

After an early breakfast, check-out from your hotel at 7:30 AM. Begin a 190 km long journey towards Badrinath via Joshimath. One of the most important pilgrimage sites amongst Hindus and Buddhists, Badrinath is nestled at an altitude of 3,133 m. It also houses the holy Badrinath Temple where devotees from all over the world come to worship Lord Vishnu. Enjoy a 7-8 hour scenic journey from Joshimath to Badrinath and witness the magnificent Hathi Pahad. Then, check-in to your hotel upon arrival. Have some rest and enjoy refreshments before you head out to Tapt Kund for a bath. Next, visit Badrinath Temple to be a part of the evening aarti. Marvel at the temple’s architecture and seek blessings from Lord Vishnu. Later, return to your hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 6

Badrinath to Rudraprayag

In the early morning, visit the Badrinath Temple for darshan and return to your hotel for a delightful breakfast. Afterwards, head out to explore the popular sightseeing spots at Badrinath. Visit the Mana Village, which is the last village of India, Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Guda, and Mata Murti Temple. Also, witness the confluence of the Saraswati River and marvel at the Naga Parvat Later,enjoy a 160 km journey to the peaceful town of Rudraprayag. Arrive after 5-6 hours and check-in to your hotel for an overnight stay there.

Day 7

Rudraprayag to Haridwar

After an early morning breakfast, check-out from your hotel and drive to Haridwar. On this 160 kms long journey, witness the Rudraprayag Sangam where Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers meet. Arrive after a 5-6 hour journey, check-in to your hotel and relax for some time. Later, visit the famous Har-Ki-Pauri ghat where you can take a holy bath and witness the Ganga Aarti. You can also shop for souvenirs from the local shops near the ghats. Afterwards, head back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 8

Haridwar to New Delhi

As your Do Dham Yatra comes to and end, bid goodbye with happy memories. Enjoy a wholesome breakfast, check-out from your hotel, and board your return transfers to Delhi Airport. Note: The arrival time in Delhi will be approx. 6:00 PM, so it is recommended to book your return tickets accordingly.
